Different from games of the same genre that allow multiple character selection, Killzone: Liberation allows players to control only one character – Jan Templar. Use the basic buttons to move up and down and control a number of vehicles: detach guns, heavy machines, tanks, seaplanes and jets. In some matches, Rico and Luger will appear alongside to support the main character (the other two minor characters are controlled by AI). Completing a mission in a single player will open a Co-op game mode
